Lord love 'em, my former home team couldn't get past my slurping their human baby. A lot. Yes, kisses and kisses were overflowing to that tiny toddler. It was grand for me but maybe not so endearing to the parents of said infant.
I've heard that history has a way of repeating itself. You guessed it, I've slurped at my new home, too.
When I got to go into the parlor of my new home today for the first time, low and behold, there was their baby. She's been so very quiet I didn't even know they had a baby, but there she was sitting in a Victorian doll sleigh wearing a beautiful pink and white striped dress. Maybe they believe children should be seen and not heard because they walked right by her without saying a word. I couldn't and wouldn't do that. No, sir. She looked so delightful, her big brown eyes so still, her skin so perfect and her manner so proper. Not one squeal or sound. Certainly if a baby ever needed kisses, this one did. Odd though there were no nice baby smells. Well, I decided, I'll love her enough for everybody. So, I went right over and gave "our" darling little baby some kisses. I covered her face with 'em and even licked her hands and shoes. I went back and did it several times to make sure every inch was covered because it seems like it's been a long time since that child has had any slurps at all. The management and their special guest whom they were entertaining in the parlor thought this was grand. They laughed and praised me. Maybe they love their baby after all.
I'll try to get in and kiss our baby some more. She really needs it. I heard them say that she has a fine china head and carved wooden body, and belonged to Catherine's grandmother some eighty years ago. I guess people babies don't grow up as fast as puppies do. All I know is that now, she's my little baby on whom to plant kisses and kisses. I'm so happy. I think they call our little baby "Sug." Oh baby, she's a REAL DOLL.
